I have always been in love with the outdoors, and like most artists, I am in love with colour and light. Perhaps because of my day job as a VFX lighting artist, I am constantly attracted to transient moments and qualities of light that I come across in nature, that elevate a pleasant day in the bush or mountains to a sublime experience. In my art I strive to capture that sense of awe, or wonder, or delight in a way that photography rarely does.
New Zealand is a reliable source of these moments, but I have found them everywhere I have travelled and lived, so you may see scenes from Canada, the UK, Australia, and others.
Currently, I am working in acrylic, both on canvas and on board. My work wanders in the triangle between illustrative, realistic and impressionistic. Prints may be offered for selected pieces.
